Thank you for your interest in the Coastal Community Scholarship (not bursary). Applications are now closed. We will be reaching out to the recipients in June.
Your Plan
In order to be eligible for a scholarship, we ask that you submit a plan for a project to improve your community. Look closely at your community, and see where you can make a difference. Keep it simple!
Coastal Community will award up to eight scholarships of $2,000 each. Up to $1,000 will also be awarded to two scholarship recipients to implement their community project. This amount is separate from the eight scholarships to be awarded to all scholarship recipients. Once the community project has been implemented, an additional $1,000 will be awarded to the applicants whose plans were implemented.
If You Are Chosen To Implement Your Project
Distribution
Eight scholarships of $2,000 each will be awarded* to Grade 12 students across Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. One of these scholarships will be awarded to a child or grandchild of a Coastal Community Employee.
Coastal Community will choose two scholarship recipients to implement their projects. These recipients will also receive an additional $1,000 upon implementation of their project. Plus, up to $1,000 to put their plan into action.
To help you prepare to fill out your application we have provided a sample here. Please note, you will need to answer questions regarding your community project plan, including but not limited to: the idea, budget, timeline, and resources required.
Your Deadline
